Description:

Provides a faith-based non-profit that offers free American life , language and job skills classes, and information about available resources to help refugees and asylees adjust to life in the US. Also offers Kindergarten readiness classes for children (ages 3-5 years) of participants while parents/guardians are in their classes and may offer computer, citizenship, a path for high school diploma, next generation tutoring and other job readiness classes to participants. Also partners with Catholic Charities of West TN offering US Naturalization Classes and Community Legal Center to help process immigration paperwork.

Usually Tue - Fri 9:00 am - 2:00 pm and other times by appointment; call for details

Intake Process:

Call for appointment. Our interpreters are scheduled and will call clients back to answer questions and arrange appointments for services.

Program Fees:

General inquiry and most services are no fee; $20 per person paperwork fee for various classes, immigration and/or detailed family services.

Spanish, Arabic, French, Hindi, Persian, Kinyarwanda, Portuguese, Swahili, Farsi, Kurundi

Eligibility:

Persons designated as refugees or granted asylees by the UN and the US Department of State; must show proof of refugee or asylee status with Federally issued ID (I-94, court document or Green Card)

Volunteer Opportunities:

Seeking adults, 18 and older to volunteer with office, client advocacy, teaching life and job skills, tutoring or computer skills or persons to drive clients to appointments; must pass a background check and undergo training. Wishlist:

Needs include some furniture, clothing, household goods, liquid detergent, toiletries, soap, deodorant, diapers, baby wipes, school supplies, school uniforms and laptops in good condition.
